Each year, the 501(c)(3) literary nonprofit Wordcrafters in Eugene hosts Fiction Fantastic, a short story contest for young writers in Lane County. This year, over 140 stories were submitted! These stories are read by local writers, teachers, and community members, then passed on to our celebrity author, and the winning stories are published in the Fiction Fantastic anthology.
This event will be a celebration of our young writers and community programs. In addition to the Fiction Fantastic Contest, Wordcrafters has a thriving Writers in the Schools program that works with Kalapuya High School, Elmira High School, and the John Serbu Youth in Detention program.
